What transmission (s) adhere to a 2.9 V6 engine in a Ford Ranger 1988 with little or no change?

I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 2 wheel driving with a bad automatic transmission. I went to 3 Tranny's since I am the owner of the truck, all A4LD's. I want a complete list of all transmissions working on this truck. And if all that other vehicle make, model and year will also work on my truck. I'm seriously considering converting my truck to a transmission standard. But I still want to find a complete list of all Tranny (s) for this truck. I heard that you can take a change of 4.0 behind of A4LD hang the lantern and version 2.9 and its much stronger tranny. But I do not know how much of that is true if any. Therefore, any help will be appreciated. So beforehand I "Thank You".

The tranny has to come from behind a 2.8 or 2.9 V6 direct lightning. 4cylinders The 2.0 and 2.3L Bolt had different patterns, as well as 3.0 and 4.0 V6.
